Periodontal Regeneration – Why, When and How?

Aim:
- To have an awareness of the evidence and literature surrounding periodontal regeneration techniques
- To be able to identify patients who may be suitable for periodontal regeneration procedures and when the procedure should be performed.
- Be able to discuss periodontal regeneration procedures with patients confidently.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the biology and science behind periodontal regeneration.
- Identify clinical indications for periodontal regeneration procedures.
- Have knowledge of the surgical techniques and biomaterials used in the regeneration of periodontal defects.

I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2012 with a commendation. Whilst working in general practice, I gained my Diploma of Membership to the Joint Dental Faculty (MJDF) and MFDS through the Royal College of Surgeons England. I am also a Member of the College of General Dentistry. For a number of years, I have committed my professional development and training in the disciplines of Periodontology and Implantology and now limit my scope of practice to these areas. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Implantology and, more recently, have completed my Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Periodontology and Implantology at the Medical University of Vienna.
I am passionate about periodontics and have been fortunate to learn techniques from some of the most recognised periodontists in the world. I am very excited to join you and share some of this knowledge with you.
